Uber Delayed Rant on Hunger Games and Magnum

I've been meaning to put an entry about the irritating SNS wave of Magnum and how I think Hunger Games was so overrated but I changed my mind since even posting about these two has become annoying.

But for the record (haha, I'm still posting after all!), Magnum's OK. I like the almond better than the Truffle but I still like Selecta's Caramel Cheesecake best. :p

Hunger Games was also OK. The pacing's fast but the story and characters are half baked, the ending was also predictable. (Or maybe because Flip bombed me with spoilers!)

I've been eyeing the book ever since I've heard that an adaptation's coming but after reading the summary on Google, I changed my mind. I bought a copy after the movie went out (to join the craze!) but after reading it, I felt that I should have just downloaded an epub or pdf and bought American Gods instead. My gut instinct was right. Haha! The rest of the trilogy would definitely come from Pirate Bay. :p

And oh, just a thought. I remember Ron Padilla, one of my 24/7 peeps, saying that Harry Potter's legend was due to a very effective marketing strategy. Of course I said his idea was 'Riddikulus' but I did remember him after watching the movie. Hunger Games is a perfect example of what he's accusing Harry Potter to be: mass craze via marketing strategy.

And so is Magnum. :)

*Beanskie, I can imagine us exchanging opinions about these two while waiting for the PVP bus at The Columns. Missing the good 'ol days! :(
