On Twilight (dusk, たそがれ, tasogare)

I've been reading the Twilight Saga these past few days and I'm still stuck on the 3rd book, Eclipse. I can say it's really, hmm, what's the right term, catchy..? Yon has been recommending the series way back 24/ 7 training days but I never got the chance to purchase the book because it's priced as much as a Murakami book. I thought that it was not worth it and somehow, by reading the e-books I felt I was right.

Don't kill me if you love Twilight. Let me explain.

The book was written in the female protagonist's point of view and of course, it has it's pros and cons. Readers were given full blown details about what Bella sees, feels, and thinks on every situation which is good because people get to understand her every intention, get to feel all her pain, love and "kilig" thoughts about Edward (What's with her gushing over Edward over and over?!). Please Bella, spare me the overflowing details. We were taught way back in college that in writing, never underestimate our audience's intellect. I think the author broke this rule because in her novel, everything's VERY convenient. Argh, I really want to gush out the entire story here, spoilers and all, but I'll hold my horses for those who hate spoilers.. :p

But the credit still goes to Miss Meyer since I :heart: vampire stories. Kaname and Zero from Vampire Knight, Toya Kano from A Thousand Years of Snow, Lestat and Louis from Interview with the Vampire (of course that's Tom and Brad, respectively) and even Jonathan Cain from good 'ol Sweet Valley High! *OK, fangirling can stop now*

.. and also, she's got credit for making Arvin want to read her books! Haha. But for the meantime, the guy's contented with my spoiler stories. :p

Ah, and before I forget, one of my favorite japanese word is "tasogare" which means "dusk" or "twilight".. Jeeez, I never thought it would be over-used, I even used it as a title of one of my previous post (in hiragana, like the title of this post)..-_-;
